Playtime Wooden Sculpture

Some time ago I was very interested and looking for some contacts to produce a vinyl toy of one of my illustrations about a cat playing with a ball of yarn, with not much luck to be honest :) but after a few days I received a really nice email from the flash animator & illustrator Gary Ham with base in Phoenix, AZ.

He came up with the suggestion of collaborate together and produce a more crafty version of this toy, he has a wood shop and has been producing some great wooden, vinyl and resin toys before by himself. So he created this amazing wooden sculpture with moveable parts based on my design and it appeared in my mailbox about two weeks ago, so Sweet! Here you can check out some pictures of the toy when I received it.

I just finished the piece and I think it turned out well, what do you think? This guy is 6.75" to the tip of his highest ear and 7.25" to the top of his tail, just the perfect size! Is one in a kind and available for exhibition if I receive any invitation. There is something great about having presence on internet and get in contact with the perfect people in the perfect time to make possible some collaborative projects like this. Thank you so much Gary for your invaluable help!

Custom G2 Mutant

Some time a go there was an art show inviting several artists to customize a G2 Mutant vinyl toy, the fabulous mascot of Nike 6.0 I wasn't invited to the be part of the show but recently my friend Jamal, who actually was in charge to 3D model this guy at Nemo Design asked me to customize his own copy of the very limited edition (6 pieces). And this is the result, he just said – I like Dia de los Muertos stuff– So, I did something expressing a bit that.

Vinyl Toy 12" tall, acrylics.

Custom Mellow

An art collector named Nick contacted to me some time a go to request a custom vinyl toy, I said yes without even to know what toy he wanted me to customize, actually also he wasn't sure by then, yet. A little later I received the Mellow figure designed by Christopher Lee. And an email from the same guy, he thought this figure would be a perfect canvas for my characters, so I did it and this is the result, I'm very pleased with the result and really like to work in 3D object.
Who knows? Maybe this is the beginning of a new line of vinyl toys :) Ha! Why not?

Thanks Nick for pushing me out in making this!
