Playtime Wooden Sculpture

Some time ago I was very interested and looking for some contacts to produce a vinyl toy of one of my illustrations about a cat playing with a ball of yarn, with not much luck to be honest :) but after a few days I received a really nice email from the flash animator & illustrator Gary Ham with base in Phoenix, AZ.

He came up with the suggestion of collaborate together and produce a more crafty version of this toy, he has a wood shop and has been producing some great wooden, vinyl and resin toys before by himself. So he created this amazing wooden sculpture with moveable parts based on my design and it appeared in my mailbox about two weeks ago, so Sweet! Here you can check out some pictures of the toy when I received it.

I just finished the piece and I think it turned out well, what do you think? This guy is 6.75" to the tip of his highest ear and 7.25" to the top of his tail, just the perfect size! Is one in a kind and available for exhibition if I receive any invitation. There is something great about having presence on internet and get in contact with the perfect people in the perfect time to make possible some collaborative projects like this. Thank you so much Gary for your invaluable help!

  3. Absolutely gorgeous... really in keeping with the special sort of stuff that Amanda Visell is producing in vinyl, but is even more special for being wooden... I'd love to see you stick with that and do limited runs. I would happily stock them at Scooter & Jinx, with pleasure!

This is great!! Wood works so well, it really fits your style. It's a pity there's no possibility to acquire such a beautiful work of art, but I will keep admiring it from over here :) Best wishes from Germany

de veras es muy lindo, ademas la madera es un material muy noble y pienso que haberlo pintado a mano le da algo especial :D.
