This is what I did for them plus a new illustration a little bit inspired in the main character I did previously for this project. Thanks to Luis Blanco and Michael Uman for invite me to participate in their project.
Celebrating two years since I did a piece called "The Enamored Whale" which by the way has become in one of the more popular pieces in my portfolio now I have done a new piece inspired by that particular one, and probably the second of enamored creatures series. Some time a go there was an art show inviting several artists to customize a G2 Mutant vinyl toy, the fabulous mascot of Nike 6.0 I wasn't invited to the be part of the show but recently my friend Jamal, who actually was in charge to 3D model this guy at Nemo Design asked me to customize his own copy of the very limited edition (6 pieces). And this is the result, he just said – I like Dia de los Muertos stuff– So, I did something expressing a bit that.
Finally the music video for the single Shiva of mexican indie-instrumental band Austin TV is out and in rotation of regular broadcast of MTV Latin America and some other local TV music shows, I directed the video and did all the art used and a very talented guy named Diego Huacuja helped out with the animation and compositing, all was done in an intense record time of one month and everybody evolved in the project is very happy with the final result.
The story is based in an original idea of the fine mates from Austin TV, the booklet of the album it comes with a bunch of pages with sketches and stories written by this fictional character named Mario Lupo and the video tells just one of these surreal stories, when he and his xoloscuincle dog, Kerdoc, went to take a walk and accidentally fell in a subterranean magical forest that at the end results in the Devil's cave.
The illustrative magazine Göoo from Argentina recently invited me to collaborate with a pice for the issue No. 6 coming up, the theme was Future and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it!
The other night I did this little guy just for fun, then I decided to animate him but now I'm not sure what I can do with him, maybe I'll complete the animation as a little short.
I recently was invited by Passion Pictures to create a character development study for a cereal TV spot, the request was just some simple sketches and a color suggestion of this chocolate caveman.
Recently I was contacted by an advertising agency in Madrid, Spain named Sra. Rushmore, they commissioned me to create an image to compete for a lottery campaign of Spain. This campaign is focused in the children, not sure how this works and if is legal in Spain for the kids to play lottery but the main idea was based in trust in your kids to choose the numbers, the image shows a kid happy to introduce the monster that lives in his closet, this is the proof! You can trust in what he say...
An art collector named Nick contacted to me some time a go to request a custom vinyl toy, I said yes without even to know what toy he wanted me to customize, actually also he wasn't sure by then, yet. A little later I received the Mellow figure designed by Christopher Lee. And an email from the same guy, he thought this figure would be a perfect canvas for my characters, so I did it and this is the result, I'm very pleased with the result and really like to work in 3D object. Who knows? Maybe this is the beginning of a new line of vinyl toys :) Ha! Why not?
