Happy Coincidences...

The other day I saw a beautiful piece called “Spaceman Stu” a McDonalds TV commercial created by the studio Kompost for Leo Burnett.

I love so much the whole piece, I think is an amazing work! And I remember the very first time I saw it, it felt very familiar to me. Now that I watched it closer I found out why is so familiar. There are a few similitudes of my work and I wonder if the people involved in the art referenced to it, which would be phenomenal or is just a happy coincidence?

JWT's GAPA/BS World Aids Day Safe Sex Campaign

"In order to raise awareness on the global HIV/AIDS pandemic, the World Health Organization established World Aids Day in 1988. Observed on December 1st, it is a chance for organizations and individuals to “demonstrate international solidarity in the face of the pandemic.” According to 2008 data from the United Nations, approximately 33 million people around the world are living with HIV.

In Latin America, JWT worked with GAPA/BS (Grupo de Apoio à Prevenção à AIDS da Baixada Santista) on a campaign with the message “Be pure. Safe sex is never wrong.” GAPA/BS is a philanthropic foundation that hopes the campaign will change the perception of purity – that to remain pure, all it takes is protection. Several artists volunteered their talent for the project, creating art for T-shirts, print media, and animation."

I'm very glad to be part of this selected group!!!

ColoRain in Chicago!

Nowadays everything seems to go by so fast and we can hardly stop for a moment in our rushed way of living to enjoy the beauty of simple things, those simple things that make this world unique and amazing. Among all those simple things that we can hardly notice in a daily basis, some people find rain as a kind of obstacle for happiness, they look forward with ager for the sunny and dry days. A rainy day is frequently associated with a gray, sad, hopeless and lazy mood but the true is that we owe rain a big part of our life and beauty, at the end and after a simple thought we can realize that without it we just can't enjoy all the color around us, neither those beautiful dry and sunny days.

Rain bring us color, life, happiness and for some people like me, hope and glee. Rain has a color, the color of life and joy.

ColoRain an art show exploring those colored rain drops all over spred in my current work. If you are in Chicago the weekend of July 17-18 please come by and say hi! The show is taking place in the store-gallery Oh No! Doom.

Kinect Adventures!

Okay, this might not be seen as the rest of my artwork but I have to admit I'm very proud with all the hard work I've been invested on this project. About 7 months ago I was kindly invited by someone in Xbox to come over to the Puget Sound area and collaborate in the production of one of the very first titles for the upcoming video-game technology known as Natal Project, today unveiled at E3 as KINECT. The new video-game system that is going to use your body to control the game and interface and I have to say is pretty cool and even magical the first time you play it!

This is the trailer debut of our game:

I'm not going to reveal yet what's my role on the production of this game, maybe some of you can perceive it there, maybe not.

Thanks to all the amazing and talented people who I work with on this great project and their incredible patience to deal with my very limited experience in the industry.
