This is the version of me using the Simpsons Avatar tool from the new movie website. I just add some textures and treatment I use.

Blue Flip Art

Gran Luchador

I made this as part of a collaborative project called "Gran Luchador" the idea was invite 10 mexican illustrators to create a mexican-wrestler character each one and produce limited series of plush toys, not sure what happened with the project, but I just want to share this.

Online Store

Finally I'm so glad to announce the official release of my online store, was a little difficult cause I setup everything by myself but is done! I have few Giclée Prints now and eventually I'm going to upload more pieces, dependably on comments from people, if you have a particular interest in some of them drop me a line and I'll really consider it to produce prints.

The quality on the prints is superb and the paper very nice, I'm totally pleased with the result.

The Office

We did a short video showing the ambient, some people and installations from the agency I work with, pretty much as part of agency presentation for new clients or colleagues. My roll for this piece was build everything you see, so I pretty much did this video. I like the atmosphere you can perceive and there are some appearing of my toys collection.

You can't really appreciate the quality of the graphics for the intro sequence in the YouTube version, so I'm posting a sample here.


Brief story behind this piece: I made sort of collage to animate and produce this, I built the curtains and have to sowed the logo pillow, also I did the paper clouds in a stick to showing the perception of real craft objects, my initial idea was create the real stage with this objects and filmed but the camera hasn't the right quality and we have a lot of problems with lighting. Then I scanned all this objects and create all the same stage digitally and animated on After Effects. The result as you can see is so rich visually, even that is very short I'm very happy with the final look and feel.

The Happy Gorilla

This is a small piece I did for my art show, not sure why I kind of have some obsession drawing gorillas in a peaceful situations, maybe I enjoy show the contrast between strongness and fragility together... or maybe I'm over thinking and I draw him just because... not sure. Anyway this is another piece using a new cartoony gorilla.

The Rising

The inaugural group show of Windup Gallery.
I'm so excited about this show! seems quite cool and I'm sharing walls with really, really great artists as you can see in the board. I have two pieces in this show.

MailmeArt Piece

Art Show in Portland OR

The opening was pretty good, thanks to all my friends and people who dropped by. The art-show will runs all may at The Basil Hallward Gallery in the pearl floor of Powell's Books. Some pieces still available for purchase.

Animals On Square ----- Set

This a little set of three animals painted with acrylic on 10X10 Canvas frames, each creature in different color. Yes, they are going to live in Bruno's (My son) room. Hope he like them, for now you can see them at The Basil Hallward Gallery on the 3rd floor of Powell's Books.

Happy three holding a nest with a little bird, why? Not sure... but I like the final composition result. Digital Illustration.

Tohbee

Tohbee is a little bee-character I did inspired in one of many great stories of a good friend of mine who is a writer and musician, Dale Basye. This piece is acrylic on paper. I like a lot the effect of painting with acrylics on grey tones, probably I'm going to use this technique often.

Finally I get a copy of this month Computer Arts Magazine issue, where I appear with a brief interview in a section called "Designer Talk" I'm really happy for this featured, I'm a big fan of this magazine.

Minis

When I saw these little frames (4"X5") I couldn't resist purchase them. Now I'm doing special mini-pieces (2.5" X 3.5" Ink & coffee on paper) to fit in these small golden frames, I like they look as those old and kitsch vintage frames for classic paintings but miniatures. This is the first one! I hope create a bunch more for selling.
